The Nike Dunk Low “University Blue” is yet another collegiate-inspired colorway of the retro basketball and lifestyle shoe by Nike. Originating as part of Nike’s “Be True to Your School” collection dedicated to some of the most successful college basketball programs of the mid-80s, the Dunk will forever be tied to basketball, especially when Nike imagines the venerable shoe in colorways like the “University Blue.” While not an official “UNC” colorway, the look draws favorably from the team uniform colors of the North Carolina Tar Heels. The perforated toe, mid-panel, collar, and heel feature a white leather construction. University Blue leather can be found on the forefoot, eyelets, heel, and Swoosh branding. The two-tone color block is reminiscent of the Dunk’s original college basketball-inspired colorways. A white “Nike” logo is embroidered onto the heel and light blue “Nike” and Swoosh insignias appear on the white nylon tongue tag. A cream colored rubber midsole and University Blue outsole round out the look. Release date: June 24, 2021.
